“Introducing the Architect’s Chair Competition, an exciting opportunity for architects and designers to showcase their versatility and creativity by designing a signature piece of furniture. Call for Proposals | 25th International Garden Festival: The Ecology of Possibility
Registration/Submission Deadline: Monday, November 20, 2023

“The Festival encourages participants to form multidisciplinary teams, and the call for proposals is open to all landscape architects, architects, visual artists, and teams from Canada and abroad. Applicants are limited to one proposal, either as individuals or as a team. Participants can be from a single city or country, or from across international boundaries. Designers are invited to design a garden that can take place in one or other of the axes of the Festival. The artistic and technical committee of the Festival will identify, in collaboration with the designers, the site that will best showcase their project. Designers will be asked to imagine their garden for exhibition for at least two summers, and to propose strategies for the repurposing or recycling of the garden or its materials after the end of its exhibition.”

International Design Competition of Rural Revitalization and Regeneration (R3)
Registration/Submission Deadline: Wednesday, December 20, 2023

“The R3 competition invites architects, designers, planners, students, and participants who are passionate about sustainable rural revitalization. It encourages them to utilize the cultural and historical resources of Shanxiabao Village to create a space that promotes cultural exchange and heritage preservation, while driving the development of local handicraft industries and sustainable tourism. The competition accepts submissions of various types of architectural projects, including single-family residences, multi-unit buildings, public structures, adaptive structures, temporary living experiences, or any other scale of architecture. There are no limitations on the design process or construction techniques. The proposed designs should be selected within the designated area and consider their relationship with the surrounding environment.”

International Competition: Innovative Furniture – 03
Registration/Submission Deadline: Sunday, December 31, 2023

“Competition is open to everyone including students and professionals. Design a furniture, which is ergonomically sound, cost effective, environment friendly and feasible to build in neglected communities. As we all are aware, inhabitants in slums and other neglected communities lack space to accommodate. The furniture designed shall fit and transform from smaller spaces to larger spaces, based on adaptive user need, help them to store, sit, sleep, read, and write and more.”
